Another CO2 tank refill option for Eastsiders

My 5kg tank finally puffed its last breath of CO2 last night. As i was hunting for an industrial outlet to refill my tank, i found out that most of the popular ones were either in Central or at the West. I do not like LFS refills for 3 reasons, they usually charges more for big tanks, needs a turn around time of a few days to a week and scratched and dented tanks upon return.

So i found a nearby outlet that does instant refills at Bedok Industrial Park E, along Simei Ave. The worker there took my tank,checked it thoroughly and then vented the remaining CO2 out of the tank. He then powered up his CO2 compressor and then placed the entire tank on a digital weighing scale and zeroed it before filling the tank with exactly 3.6kg of liquid CO2. Damage is less than 15bucks, cash. In all took only about 5-8mins. As I was in a hurry, i can't be bothered to ask what sort of CO2 was used, i just noticed that it came from a group of big bulky tanks hooked up to a compressor.

So, to those that is staying at Changi/Pasir Ris/Tampines/Simei looking to instantly refill your empty CO2 tanks without the wait, address below.

Thanks Redember, I live in the east & this would definitely help. I wasn't aware that they are different sort of CO2, I assumed CO2 is CO2, anywhere you top up. Anyway, I will give it a go. Thanks again.

Yup it is important if you are brewing beer or something edible. But for planted tank, i think any CO2 is good enough. I presume the only impurities are the atmospheric gases in his filling hoses and equipment.

Soooo in the end how is the co2 working out? Any problems with the co2 from that industrial place?

Just refill my 5L there yest, very professional. They will empty the tank, weight the tank before n after filling up. All these take less than 5 minutes. Yet to use.

Anyone know the opening hours? My 5L tank had a leak cuz the splitter wasn't tightened... Need to get the co2 asap

Thanks for the info TS...just refilled my 1.5L CO2 tank..$12.80. This place is just 5 mins from my home and I didn't know it..Hahah..Usually I go to Seaview at Jalan Kayu to get a new one for $17 a pop. Save more than $5 plus petrol. The best part is you will definitely know you are getting a full tank. So far no issues with the CO2 in my fish tank. Any enquiries just give them a call they won't bite.

I did a Google on Leong Chew Gas... they are part of WKS gas group and have a factory in Woodlands. You might want to search the website and give them a call. I called the east side but they are not opened on Sunday.

Its been almost 5 months I last refilled my co2 tank and my tank is still going strong at 2 bubbles/second. Don't think I'll be going back fish shop to refill my tank. I strongly believe those from the shop are not giving us a full tank.

FYI. I called to WKS gas group factory at Woodlands (Lim Yew Siong Pte Ltd). They don't do instant refill of CO2, have to send to main factory at Tuas, 2-3 days turn around time. Appreciate if anyone know any other instant refill station at northern area.

Hi anyone know if the Bedok one is still available? I remember going there a few years back and the lady (manager/owner) told me that our Co2 cylinders needs to be inspected and certified for them to refill for us.
