I have bought 10 cardinal tetras two weeks ago, and realized one of my cardinal tetra which originally has a blue stripe has turn into purple stripe. Is it abnormal? Originally I thought I have temporary color blind when I saw it, but after noticing it for a while, it is indeed purple!

Don't think I have problem with my tank water as my tank is already 5 weeks old and luckily no fish has die yet. I personally have another 8 glowlight tetra, and are doing fine.

Colour variants can occur sometimes, I've had a cherry shrimp that definitely had a strong purplish hue, but pity its dead now.

If you can breed a line with that colour, maybe you can market it as the pope tetra?
Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.

never heard of it, but sure would like to see it. can you get a pix with it together with one normal cardinal to compare?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
