    Hi Folks
Need help looking for an autofeeder. Have only boraras, and feeding them "micro pellets" or Tetra bits like stuff ... small and almost powery.

Would need an autofeeder that can handle the small size of the food and also one that will allow you to control feed small amount each time ..
only have a small tank with 10 boraras, 3 yamato shrimps and 3 otoc

Actually, your fishes will survive for two weeks, no problem and no need to buy auto-feeder.

What if you need to be away for longer trips, say 1 month? Of course one option is to ask friends/relatives to come over but what if this is not available?

Another problem would be the evaporation of the tank and water change required. What would be the best approach to handle this?

the one i am using is called A Mei(or something)

It is real cool!!! they give u 6tabs and u place the number of tabs on whatver time u want then letz say its 12 ... turn the cock till 12 and then as hours pass by the clock also moves... until it hits your time where u place your tab and the autofeeder will turn a round and the desired amount of food will fall... i put mine at 5am and 12pm and 8pm... (of course still got 3 tabs but not using as for now)

the opening can be adjusted of various sizes....smaller opening, less food...

fun fun fun! by the way it cost $27-$35

Unfortunately, the autofeeders hv exposed opening to the air. With the high humidity in S'pore, the food is bound to get soggy over time.

Yet to see one with sealed canister that only opens at feeding time.

doubt the fish food will get soggy over a short time frame of 1 month.

There is the Eheim Autofeeder, but I can't say much about it.

from most of the post in this forum, most people seems to advise not to feed the fishes for period of 1week to 1 month. Problem is that when i dont feed them, they tend to start eating the plants ..esp the yamato shrimps
anyone got the same problem ?

besides the problem of keeping the food fresh, i am trying to look for one that handles micro pellet, most feeders seems to handle flakes better. not sure about micro pellet. any experience with using the ehiem one with micro pellet ?
