I have recently set up a 2 ft planted tanks with glowlite tetras, cories and 2 ottos.

    No CO2 and using a 17W light

Currently doing well, but my foreground plants seem to be dying.

Can anyone please recommend some hardy foreground plants that require little lights and CO2?

My Java mosses are thriving, but they aren't too pleasing as a foreground grass.

    Thanks

P.S Also, if possible, please provide links to LARGE PICs of the plants as they all look so very similar.

hi there, most of my more demanding plants are doing well but not my java moss. my xmas moss is as good as dead. my java moss is brownish in colour even after i've got it for a month. what's your secret ?? how about your water temperature ?

btw, at 17w for the size of your tank, i think it is tough to sustain most foreground plants. actually, a layer of java and xmass moss is very nice .... like what Nature use to have in it main display tank. that will look more like dim south american river actually.

if you like, having a LOT of crypts will give you that effect too
but you'll need to have a lot of base fert for them, nutrient balls aren't good enough
