I have a 90 gal tank that I plan on redoing after a major algae breakout and believe my problem is to much light with not enough CO2. Currently have 3 110 vho bulbs on tank. tank is 24" tall. Plan on removing one bulb and just having two. Will this be better. Thought about switching to pc, but I already have the ballast etc for the vho's. I will purchase a pressurized CO2 system with in the next few weeks. I think with adding more CO2 and lowering the light level this will deplete the unwanted algae.

330w for a 90 gallon tank can be considered as a high light tank. you'll need to keep up the co2 and nutrients else you'll have algae problems.
as a start, dropping the light level and increasing co2 would help. aim for 30ppm of co2 during the photoperiod.

    just to check out,

if my tank is around 2WPG, meaning 2x36w for my 36GAL 3 ft tank,
roughly how high ppm should i maintain my CO2 level....
cos i also spot so algae at my tank glass recently.....

    lighting hours= 8hr/day

I would recommend 30ppm for all tank size 2 feet and above(for high tech tank). I think you should consider increasing your lighting hours to 9 or 10. As many had stated, spot algaes are normally due to insufficient PO4.
