    Hi guys!

Bought the Magnum II PL from NA at a steal some time back and was just surfing various sites when I chanced upon some comments about the Magnum brand.

I used to have the older version which died pretty quick on me. Flickered and sporadically would turn on after being off for some time. You can guess what this limbo rock in lighting did for my plants.

But the Magnum II has been okay so far. No problem. Was told by Mr. Chan from NA that this is an improved version after the company troubleshooted the lights from the previous model.

Anybody got views or experiences to share about the Magnum II?

    Bro,

Using the Magnum II for 3 weeks+ already. so far no problem. Lights are on 10 hrs Mon to Fri and 15 hrs Sat & Sun. Only concern I have is the type of PL tube which comes with the lights. There is not much information regarding the tubes.

Anyway will use until 6 mths or so before changing to different tubes.

Got mine from Kingfisher. Ian also told me the same thing about the troubleshooting for the new Magnum 2.

    Cheers

Used my 2 3ft 2x36w MII for about 3 months now(every day for 9 hrs). No problems so far. By the way the PL bulbs state 6700k but Chan told me it is 8000k. But than china brand, the tubes got dimmer pretty fast, so now contemplating to change to ebiru or osram. tried osram but too yellow for me.

    Cheers

So far I've heard good stuff about Magnum II as compared to its predecessor. Mine has been working fine since March. I changed to 55W to 36W instead. Doesn't dim on me, no flickering. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

An update on the Magnum II

I begun to experience a flickering effect on one of the tubes. After a while, the flickering tube went out - no more light. Felt the top of the lamp and it was hot. I switch off the power and switch on again after 5 mins. The lights worked. However, after 15 mins, the flickering effect happened again.

I returned the lights to the LFS and though the LFS could not find the problem, they changed a new light for me.

Using the Maqnum II PL 2x55W tubes for more than 6months liao... No problems so far. In fact, in the beginning, I had even seen bubbling of my plants... Though sadly. didn't get to see anymore... Think the PL tube's efficiency might be dropping rather fast...
