Hi all, Im very new to planted aquaria, started out only a few months ago, and till date my tank seemed off-course being healthy.

Anyways, I just re-used a hang-on filter for my 2Ft tank and instead of bio-rings, I placed coral scraps/rocks into it as I've heard it kinda balances PH/KH and also beneficial bacteria as well... Im not too sure whether this has been verified correct...
(I've also got a external filter with foams and bio-rings in it.)

So can anyone help me verify whether I shold be doing this or not?

    Thank u guys!

Hehe ok ok, I dunno whether I've asked a silly question... but anyways, I removed my hang-on filters for about a month now. It's just kinda gathering algae and my SAEs went in for a little dip. Messy bizness... but still, I would be glad if anyone can verify the above correct?
