    Hair Algae?

There is a sticky on top of you..

A combination of staghorn and hair algae. Did you stir the substrate up for some reason without doing large water changes after that or over-stock your tank?

well actually, i tried putting in two roots monster to let it dissolve slowly and it seems the dissolve rate is way too high already. just manually remove the algae after water change and now trying one roots monster instead of one.

yap, read the sticky but it suggest american flag fish which i believe is quite aggressive. tried yamatos before but my tank condition seems anti shrimp, non survive. tried at least 100 shrimps already, 10pcs each time with different methods of introducing to tank and such. give up shrimp method cos i think its the liquid fert which kills them and i don intend to stop my fert dose. sae seems to love fish feed more then the algae. oto don like them either. hc can't take h2o2, melts with the algae.
just did large water change and manual removal. injected 30ml of excel to 50l of water. this method has quite a lot of success so wait and see how it goes.

    hi,

are u using Lush micro? If yes, reduce the dosage n increase the co2, too much micro traces (especially Fe) will cause this algae to boom - experimented in my 3 ft tank.
