    Hi Taz,
I think Pop eye is known as dropsyor something like that it spreads slowly. Mortality rate is high, suggest you medicate or quarantine immediately.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

Pop eye as a disease is usually not contagious.

However, the conditions leading to the fish developing pop eye can certainly cause other fishes in the same tank to develop the same condition. Pop eye is usually caused by high Nitrogen content in the water. Add salt for relief and following up with water change. If the water is kept clean, the fish should return back to health.

However, if the pop eye is a secondary infection from bloat or dropsy, then the fish is most likely to be going "up the bus" soon.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    thanks benny and mike,

"heng" my tetras are not in secondary infection state, only that their eyes look weird and popping.....they are still surviving.

ok...i'm changing water weekly plus salt, together with Seachem "ParaGuard".
    hope can cure
