    Sorry guys, no pics yet. I think I've already found what I perceive to be a design flaw in the filter.


    In normal canisters, the water flow is from bottom up. What I think happens is that when the dirty water flows from the bottom on its way up, the dirt particles hits the media and because they are usually heavier than water, this contact with the media causes it to sink to the bottom and allows the clean water to continue travelling up and out of the filter. Correct me if I'm wrong.
    From what I see with this canister, the water flow is from left to right, in a way. So as the dirt particles falls to the bottom, wouldn't the water flow still continue moving the dirt particles to the sponge where I don't think all of it can be prevented from flowing back out to the tank?
    Am I being paranoid, or is that actually a problem I might face?
