Have anyone use these so called :duck weed: in their tank.....
it's round size of diameter of 3-5mm green leaf withsome tiny roots, floats on the surface of the water... looks like a carpeted water surface if there is lot of them.... cos I saw it in those plant nursery

ECtan once wrote something about that. It's a great way to keep the nutrient level down and therefore prevent algae, but they propogate fast, so you'll have to clear it every week.

If you have big tanks with plants growing near the surface, better not try them. It took me more than 1/2 a year to get rid of them. Even one small leave left un-noticed will propagate to a bunch of them in no time.

I switched to uing Salvinia and Frogbit.

    is this the water lettuce?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

it's not any of the more common types of floating plants
from tropica's watercolour pictures it looks like phyllanthus fluitans
but regardless, it's a nice plant
