Any advice anyone? He's still alive, but barely....![]()
My Dwarf Gourami has been lying on one side for 1 week now
He struggles to get up and swim every once in a while but only ended up sinking to the bottom of the tank and lie on one side, flapping his little fin helplessly.
Can anyone advise me what to do to help him get back to his swimming self?
He shares the tank with 1 Angelfish, 1 Honey Gourami and 2 Golden Gourami.
Any advice anyone? He's still alive, but barely....![]()
Looks like some swim bladder problem, maybe due to internal bacteria.
I'm not sure if there's anyway to help it, at this stage.![]()
P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.
I believe coryfav is right. Your description is a good indication of a swim bladder disease. There are medication, but often not effective. In the early stages, salt dip might help.
Do take note that if left alone, the sick fish may still live quite a long time, as long he still feeds.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Hi Chermin,
I think both benny and coryfav are correct, likelyhood bladder. Since it has been 1 week already, benny advise is sound. My previous experience would be to add medication below recommended dosage as the fish is already in a very weak state. Adding the exact amount might kill it. If there are signs of healing, gradually increase medication over 3-4 days until exact dosage. PS: it not scientically proven but it works for me![]()
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
Thank you all for the advice.![]()
Will give it a very light salt dip & see what happens.
Just wondering...is it possible for fish to get a stroke?![]()
