reccomendation please

Hi...

i need 2 reccomendations for my tank...

1) a plant that can take low light and grows to about 15cm tall...maybe 20...nothing more.. bushy..preferably..

2) a medium light plant...err..low growing...needed to cover hariy legs of the stem plants..but not blyxa japonica...that plant just melts in my tank..dont know why..

You know what we're going to say: crypts

For covering up of legs, driftwood or Anubias? Also try hairgrass. It just depends on your scape.

i dont mind trying the crypt if it'll work...i just have this thing against crypts..lol..but hell i'm desperate...

So what crypts would fit this category??

as for the hairy leg problem...i'm going to try stargrass...zosterifolia for now...see what happends...

Compacta is a plant u can try.

what compacta?? hygro??
if its hygro i would rather go crypts actually...cos..i REALLY very scared hygro..lol..except for a few species... this one grow fast a not??

Java Fern "Tropica"

Cost about S$18 to S$30 on driftwood. But fits your requirements and relatively low maintenance.

~There's a particular sword plant known as echinodours parviflorus which stays rather low and bushy. Best to get them to grow in groups.

Justin: How about

1. H. polysperma, H.difformis, Elodea, Eichhornia diversifolia ?
2. Hairgrass can grow high enough to about 4" in my tanks -- but may need high lighting. If not can consider H.corymbosa "compact" -- slow growing and bushy.

Blyxa japonica -- why not try again?

cant use those plant la..they grow like mad leh... afterwards all i will be doing will be pruning...lol..

As for blyxa...i try 2 times already...maybe 3rd time lucky hor..lol... you got some to spare?? if have dont pluck first...i'll let you know b4 i go down.. just let me know can spare me some or not..

Not commonly found as it's bigger than normal java ferns. Can try ordering from C328.

Wah...benny..was reading up on this plant and it says it can grow to 50cm!!!!! think don't want liao la...lol..

H.corymbosa "compact" is a relatively slow growing plant

well..after all that fuss..i've decided to shift my E. harbich over there to the shady corner.. so maybe now i will have to find low growing shady plants..lol..

anyone has Cryptocoryne pygmaea??

Trust me..... If it can grow up to 50 cm in your tank, I buy back from you. Best I can do is around 30 cm, if I count the wood that I tied it on.

Besides, it's easy to maintain, just pull of the tall bits.
