krkrkrrrr... dun think so, or else andi will bring up his lfs story on survival againjus mentioned AQ and andi will give u 5-10% depending on species.. thats the best I could squeeze from him
wat's his lfs story on survival?
better sell cheaper than let the apistoes cramp up there rite?
btw, heard from moae there're many apisto keepers not in AM.
"hey guys, i wan to buy fry pairs from u..
not cacas or aggas coz too common..
got vejietas, macmasteris, pandurinis, borellis, t-backs..
if u got other species, sell me pls!"
hahahaaa... his lfs story is how H20 is going to survival if he sell his fishes cheaper.. blah blah blah![]()
yup, got so many apisto keeper, but no one wanna to share []
Whats so difficult to get those species mention duhz...they are around wht.
Cheers!

i think kenzo meant common agassizii and caca found in lfs... not all of them
krkr... yup..
rare cacas or aggas, elizabethanes, diplos, bitaens, tris, hongsloi, etc..
can find...but not at can buy prices..
broke oredi...
then we all have to work harder and force breed our apisto thenmy A. hongsloi showing sign of breeding.. just dunno when.. my A. trifasciata, no sign (suppose remove the male shld be better.. the male jus chasing the females ard) my A. vietija.. oso the same as the A. trifasciata
as for species like elizabethane, diplos... think very unlike, unless someone import them into SG.. the rest have to depend on the generousity of the apisto keepers in SG.. thats one of my aim of creating ApistoMania, hoping that apisto keepers in SG, can and will shared their species with everyone.. making apistogramma more affordable and readily available in the market [] too big an aim, but I can dream [
]
i share your dream..
at least everyone can sleep easier when their apistoes go kapoot.![]()
when A.elizabethae go kaput,it hurts a long time in the pocket![]()
..............................
When my fishes are happy, I'm happy.
LOL... thats y, we need reputable breeders.. at least, u know the condition of their apisto
how about AM organise a 'swop or buy'
so ApistoManiacs with extra apistoes can exchange or buy those they dun have..
i dun have any to swop yet, but my macmastri rednecks got eggs now.. so who wants to exercise option to buy or exchange if they grow to 1 inch?![]()
how to organise such an event? everyone's apisto breeding at diff timing.. thats y, u guys can email me and I will then post it on AM and hopefully help u guys sell off them
mabbee start a swop/buy thread in AQ cichlid section?
krkr...this is getting interesting..
great suggestion.. ask the rest of the gang.. charles, i know u reading..
I find 1inch too small to sell still, people want to see the colours and can see male or female before they want to get.
the fishes should be around 4-5cm .
Cheers!
Benetay
those r ppl who dun really know.. and perharps they dun trust us to believe our word...
thats why, so at lease grow the fry to a bigger size liek 4-5cm will be good to sell and breedable too. 4mths they can start breeding already.
Cheers!

Hi guys![] I'm reading this thread with much interest. IMO, I see this as a significant step for the local hobbyists. Recently, we've been getting quite a no. of Apisto owners who had their fishes bred. Good news indeed! We keep this going and we're gonna have more people into this hobby, I hope. As Simon has mentioned the teething issues of organising such events, I can see why it is so. More importantly, there's got to be some sort of trust established between the members first, more so when $ is involved. Secondly, what you hear may not be what you get. Apistos are difficult to ID, especially when they're young. Hence, without reputable breeders, the newbies might miss out on plenty. e.g Paying for a specimen not worth that much, frys dying in new water conditions etc. Of course, if it's anything within $20, I think it is not so bad yet.
Anyway, I strongly encourage the notion of AM or AQ members to share, swop or sell their Apistos/ frys. That way, we learn more from each other and sharpen our breeding skills. Who knows, one day Apisto Mania might develop into something BIG.[]

well said~!
i tink hobbyists take better care of their apistoes, as they devote more care and attention..
so i'm comfortable with buying from hobbyist..
but you're rite, buyers muz be prepared for the fish to die, be it from hobbyist or lfs.. juz that it can get more personal..
if the price is lower, then it's a further bonus.
