I was thinking, perhaps we can start a Team ADA 2006 to participate in the following year's contest. Over the next 10 months, we can get our tanks ready and photograph it once it's in it's prime state. The key here is we have a team of photographers and we help each other along the way as we works towards the submission date. And we can organise the submission together like we used too also.

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers,
That's a good idea, that would be boost to the overrall standard. Not everyone have the equipments or is good at phototaking, in ADA I think they take into consideration quality of the photos as well, having help in that area would be great!

I like the idea of sharing a common journey towards submission, for me the value would not be entering the completion, but getting the feedback from other like minded individuals. Like all feedback, the recipient can decide to adapt/change/transform to improve their perceived chances of winning and/or improve the harmony of their aquascape. I use “and/or” in that people do not have to implement the changes as suggested, as beauty and satisfaction belong to the beholder.

Photography is about presentation, and ADA must take this into consideration or at least be impacted by it. I am not sure if ADA is influenced by the packaging of the submission, but this is worthy of consideration.

Having recently taken a good picture of my tank, I was surprised by the amount of effort required, plus the number of flash units etc etc, it also took me a number of planned activities over the best part of week. Assuming that 10-15 people were interested, it might be hard to do two/three planned shoots per month, so some aquacapes would have to be reaching their prime many months in advance eg September / October to ease the burden next year.

So I think it is a great idea… worthy of a discussion one Saturday morning over a coffee?

A coffee gathering sounds good, if you are buying us coffee, that would be even better!

The idea sounds great and will help many of us with better ideas in improving our aquascapes.

Well, Koah Fong, congratz... Since Jacian left, you are the best player for AQ

I hope more will step up and say... "I will do better".. and bring up Singapore Aquascape standards.

Well done Koah Fong and Kenneth! Looks like we are moving up the ranks. To borrow the phrase from DPM, let aim for top 30.

Btw entry no 8 is a super hobbyist...his name is appearing on all sorts of Jap media, not only planted tank(his ranking is quite high up every year in ADA) but also playing big fish to oddballs to small fish like Apistos, tetra & killie fish, breeding...aquatic photography....collection trips to Amazon......

No you didn't go the other way. Last year you are top 71% and this year improve to top 58%. The competition entries has increased.

There are many more AQ members with beautiful tanks that did not take part. Hope we can send in more entries next year. I found that even Malaysia has 31 entries, so much more than the previous year of 2 only.

BTW - last year's results are still available at ADA site. See http://www.adana.co.jp/pdf/2004r600.pdf

    Cheers!

Low profile I think. No action from him. Previously his XL and XXL tanks are great.
