I like the idea of sharing a common journey towards submission, for me the value would not be entering the completion, but getting the feedback from other like minded individuals. Like all feedback, the recipient can decide to adapt/change/transform to improve their perceived chances of winning and/or improve the harmony of their aquascape. I use “and/or” in that people do not have to implement the changes as suggested, as beauty and satisfaction belong to the beholder.
Photography is about presentation, and ADA must take this into consideration or at least be impacted by it. I am not sure if ADA is influenced by the packaging of the submission, but this is worthy of consideration.
Having recently taken a good picture of my tank, I was surprised by the amount of effort required, plus the number of flash units etc etc, it also took me a number of planned activities over the best part of week. Assuming that 10-15 people were interested, it might be hard to do two/three planned shoots per month, so some aquacapes would have to be reaching their prime many months in advance eg September / October to ease the burden next year.
So I think it is a great idea… worthy of a discussion one Saturday morning over a coffee?
