hi,
my is still working, but as a pre-caution, will like to know any repair shop on resun chiller locally;
was told by my LFS that if spoilt, then it is the buyer "suayness", solution is to discard n buy another one;

If its the thermostat then maybe worth repairing/getng an external one... Anything else... it may be more economical to get a new one.
don't want to start a new thread.
erm.. not exactly repair, but part replacement actually. i was screwing back the outlet nozzle to the Resun chiller with my hands and the cheap plastic part cracked. Now, i can't operate the chiller as it leaks at the nozzle. Anyone knows where to get spart parts for Resun chillers or at least fix up this problem?
sorry for the poor picture quality.

I'm afraid that the 'epoxy-ed' joint won't be strong enough as the surface area is small. i hope to be able to find a replacement part.l

Maybe can make an enquires to System and Control Engineering aka Bioplast which PeteGwee previously mentioned.

they just make the most of everything that comes along their way
When will there be 25 letters in the alphabets?
i'll give them a try but i doubt if they have the replacement part. i think they are more into fixing up the refrigeration unit, e.g fan, compressor or gas top-up.
i wonder anyone here know the distributors of resun chillers. maybe they can help.

you can epoxy as suggested.
then reinforce that with a hose clip/clamp on the nut.

but i can only consider epoxy as a temporary measure and not a permanent fix. scared if the epoxy gives way, then might cause tsunami in my living room. i am still searching around for a replacement part.

Gummy, maybe you should stop 'screwing' too hard next time!![]()

I'm not sure which plastic piece actually cracked but I have a dislike for proprietary parts and will try to modify them to standard plumbing parts.
I have a Resun CL-300 and replaced the flimbsy pieces as pictured (click to enlarge);
The white elbow shares the same thread pitch as the original black bolt & cap (your choice whether to use the plastic 'bolt'). Slip-end of the elbow is for 25mm (I think) and the reducer will 'step-down' to common 15mm PVC pipes.
From there, you can either use union-connectors, ball-valves, etc, to customize your chiller rig.
Following image shows part number for the elbow;
As for Tango, it depends on the extent of repairs required but nothing is impossible. Just depends on how hard you search for a solution and how much you're willing to pay. Good luck.

hi ronnie,
thanks for your great advise. i'll try to find something like what is in your picture from the local pvc shop. FYI, i wasn't 'screwing' really that hard. i usually 'screw' carbonated drink bottles harder than what i did to that resun screw cap.
saw your ad for selling off some of your tanks.. cutting down your hobby? i am impressed with your massive collection of hardware.![]()

You ain't seen nothing yet! Have more in the store room but yes, I'm in dire need to scale down (finding it hard to breathe and panting from water changes!).
If you're getting the PVC elbow, do bring along the cap or bolt to verify thread fit. A roll of plumbers' tape will help take up the slack, if any.

Hello Ron,
Long time no see, still keeping the jungle of fishes. It's been a long time since I met up with you.

Hi Nicholas,
Yup, the good 'ol days was when the corridor and corner unit took on a kampong ambience. Many things to touch and look, but nah... it was getting way over my head especially with the kids growing up. I still have some 4ft setups outside and you're free to visit if you happen to be in the area.
Cheah,
I took a closer look at the plastic captive 'bolt' that cracked and I believe it can still be fixed, not with epoxy glue but with epoxy putty or acrylic polymer. It need to built up thicker for strength and since aesthetics is not an issue, I don't see a problem. For durability and part availability, I would still go with PVC plumbings.

Hi,gummynut u can try pet mart shop at sarangoon .I think so they have a replacement parts
Use cable tie and some silicon.
Use silicon glue all round the part. Next get the bigger cable tie to hold it together. Should work pretty well as cable tie is strong. The silicon is just to make sure that the cable tie stays in place.
Just a suggestion.
Hi Nicholas,
Here's a great opportunity to meet up and catch up with a KillieChat presentation. See this thread for details. Be there?
