long type hair grass used in Amano tank

Anyone tried long hair grass like what Amano used in his tank? Checked with Teo guy and he say no easy to grow ... might fail.

I got some from a friend few months back.... seems ok....

I got a few strands as contaminants... they're growing well, but not spreading through runners, rather through nutlets at the top the leaves.
