Can. But I need to do 1 pre shoot recce to determine set up. And you will have some pre shoot preparation to do.

Can use to join ADA 2006 if you are interested. In fact, we are now working on a submission team to tackle the contest next year.

    Cheers,

Nice ahh..But I feel that the silver mist foxtail (if that's what it is) needs to be trimmed down abit as I feel that it's taking too much attention. Also, what's that foreground plant, some kind of lileopsis sp., or is it the very expensive gou xin cao (utricularia sp.)?

That green mass of stemmed plants, near the center left. That area is at the 1:1.618 spot where the greek philosophers pointed out as the main focal point of a picture. Correct me if I'm wrong on this thoery

you should avoid having a very bright point at the center, especially the depth of the valley. This disrupt the focal and you loose the depth field immediately. Refering to the MU? on the right, center. Move it slightly towards the 1/3 point on the right.

Try to trim the 2 mound in better shape, dont have to be too round though. Or you can try having big leaved plants towards the front-sides and gradually towards the center with finer leaved plants. Use from bright colors (eg green) to darker tone color plants towards the center. The anubias on the left is well placed.

The leggy part of stem plants mass can be concealed by placing some rocks infront, but not in the center.

Hi roland.. Thanks...agree that that is quite distracting.. what do you think of shifting that bright plant (lysimachia nummularia) to the left 1/3 point instead of the right? maybe make it a shorter but angled row in front of the Toninas manaus..i figured that since the tonina manaus is already quite bright.. the lighter colour of the Lysimanchia should bring the eyes further forward..

i'll shift the thinner leaved arcuata there to take over its place instead..will do this next water change..

that was great help!! no wonder i keep having a funny feeling looking at the tank..lol..

Where is the tonina manuas? On the left ah? Why like very small?

Your idea is good, so the left side will look more "forward" then the right side. In that case, your anubias should line up til the left front so that it looks as if the depth is from left to rightward.

The anubias right in the center could spoil the feel?

    Back ground too distracting....
Nothing much to add to whats already commented here... except I would probably trim back a third of the rotalas on the right...I find it bit too much.

It'll be good to see the tank after you carrried the improvements as suggested by the bros here.

....Can you give a list of the plants in the tank?

Hey you've got a good tank there!

I also can't say much since I've never touched stem plants before, but the tank looks big and a blue background will probably be nice.

Where are the fishes? Get something to complement the dominant greenery in the scape... cardinals cannot do it imho.

Agree with Fei Miao on the background. Need to change that.

    My personal comments:
Plants are very healthy and green. However, I find the scape a bit symmetrical. In last year's ADA entries, I found that if they have this "valley effect" as a focal point, they put it at the around the 1/3 region.

hahaha//the back ground is my room wall lah...not on purpose one..if submitting for competition then will put a nice background up then...

Now presently racking my brain out as to how to move some of the plants around..

    Roland :
yes its on the left...very small cos i just let it grow to the top and split./. currently is undergowing a "growing the split so it look bushy phase"..
the Anubias in the centre is actually just to cover the pipes for now...will prob remove it when going to take a picture..

i was thinking of introducing a path-like way into the valley... but have to rip out some of the foreground... need some opinions on where to put this path since plants rip out already very hard to put back..lol...

option 1 ) where the 2 drift woods cross..where the sae is...on the light green grass side..quite cnetral i know but path would be slanting towards back left to make the background plants have gap at about 1/3 on backleft of tank..

    Option 2) suggest a place..

option 3) dont think that is a good idea..lol..

As for plant list...wah....headache...rojak lah feimaio...lol...let me go think first...like eating slurpee like that...brain freeze..

Hey, abit sidetrack from here, can Lileopsis sp. grow well in a medium lighted non CO2ed tank? I think hairgrass seems ok in my low tech tank albeit slow-growing.

How about that utricularia sp. lawn? I think it will fail terribly in a non CO2ed tank. How's your utriculria sp. doing? Your tank is high lighted and CO2ed right?

As for fish, imho, I feel that fish like rummy nose or cardinal tetra are yucks. Perhaps pigmy rasbora, chocolate gouramis are a good choice. Well that's just me.
