it only pains me to read articles like this...
greed always will get its hands on you no matter what you do.. be it for a short time or for a long time..for a lot or a little... it WILL get its hands on you..just cos we are human..
perhaps this is what it means to be "blinded by greed" .

I never liked the way they run those charity shows - all those cars, apartments, straight cash are just lottery basically. Preying on people's basic instinct - greed.

Year after year, they give a higher target of charity funds despite having a fat $200million bank account which can last the whole nation's dialysis programme another 40 years. Is there really a need to do this?

They are sapping these charity money at the expense of other charity organizations.

Their reluctance to release proper figures only goes to show there might be more than meets the eye.

I certainly hope the court warrants a proper audit on their accounts and share some light on how they actually work.

precisely why i never watch those shows..or donate...its not cos i dont care..but seriously i think its so stupid...
Why is it always the "rich" organisations that are putting up these shows petitioning for more money when they are already...well...RICH!!?? if they had so much money to give away such extravagant prizes in the first place..why not use that money for more dialysis machines or something else?? and if they had to come up with such schemes to get people to donate..then doesn't that say something about their donatees?? the whole thing is ironic and a self-contradictory....so silly...

On another note, always noticed the NKF have these marine & planted tanks for patients to view while undergoing treatment.
Should be very soothing for them.

Would it be cheaper to convert all to planted tanks or vice versa.
    Can save some cost there?

NB: I'm complete ignorant about the cost of running marine tanks, can someone enlighten me. more dear/ cheaper/ same cost compared to planted tanks?

I think they are so used with their old 'formula' of running charity shows and stunts and lottery, that other than spending money on these fund-raising shows to get more money, they have no other ideas on how to implement it to aid their real cause - and that is to help the needy ones.

In short, this so-called NON-PROFIT organization has lost its mission. People, Focus!

    NKF mission
We are the largest charitable organisation in Singapore dedicated to the cause of saving and transforming lives. We are recognised as a world-reputed, not-for-profit healthcare institution, benefiting over 260,000 Singaporeans every year through various life-saving programmes. Established in 1969, we are counted as a model of social entrepreneurship in Singapore. In 1987, we established the world’s first public-funded subsidised dialysis programme.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

Ever wonder who else is on the board of NKF?

Also why is the woman making the 'peanut' comment when she usually refrain from making public-speech/comment when she ever made her round?

Since most of us donated in one way or another, I wonder did the NKF's CEO ever contributed part of his salary donating back to NKF.

Can refund my recent donations or not?

ya, can we refund since there are so many mispresentations ; first the number of patients which should be 2000 instead of 3000 and the number of years the reserve can last which should be more than a decade instead of 3 years.

Any lawyer on line can advise whether we have any case to ask for refund?

From the news, people donated during the last NKF show will be refunded, upon request. Please call NKF hotline (trust me, it will be freaking hot) for more infomation.

Now that the Board of Directors and TT Durai had decided to stepped down "gracefully". I must admit I am certainly impressed by the determination Durai had building up NKF. The thing that trigger the line of fire is probably the way he handle his "privacy". I regret that we haven't got the chance to hear how much the board of directors had taken, and I am certainly insulted by the comments made by Mrs Goh. The combined properties my family had is far from a peanut. She gave me the feeling she's looking down on my family and myself. I do admit its not easy building a charity organisation to this size if Durai and his team is not had been persistant and agressive like they did. Looking back, maybe we did over react, maybe not. I certainly believe he will be recruited by some big companies or government sectors. I believe he will get what he wanted there more deservely without offending the people of the Republic of Singapore again.

    Good luck Mr T.T Durai
