i've got like black algae on my moss. they look like black cotton wool. when there is little light it grows very slowly once the lighting is increased, it grows damn fast.

this happened on 2 of my tanks. 1 is one feet the other is 4 feet. the 4 footer get constant co2 2 to 3bps per second(using sump tank) and i still get this algae. lighting is 2 150W mh and temp is 24 to 25. the other is 1 feet. no co2 filteration is those small hangon filter. lighting is 11W pl. temp is around 27.

both tank got no fert regime

    sound like bba.
your co2 injection of 2-3bps tells you nothing about the co2 level of your tank.
measure your pH and KH to find out the co2 level using the co2 chart.
this step is especially important since you have a sump which will cause co2 loss.
with mh lights, low co2 levels & no fert dosing, very condusive for algae growth.

read through the other algae threads (quite a few on bba) and you'll find out what needs to be done.
    Cheers,
