    What about badis badis?

If i do not remember wrongly the last time i kept horseface loaches, they did a fair bit of digging to filter out critters from the sand. In my experience, not good if you have small forground plants.

Badis badis will also eat baby shrimps though, and they will not eat anything that do not move. So your tank must be big enough to have some self-propogating creatures like snails, cyclops, etc. Otherwise need occasional live food.

Hmm... Come to think of it, my ramshorn snail population suddenly drop and my Dario always have a fat round belly... Since Darios are cousins of Badis... Badis should be eating snails too...

I don't know about dario, but badis badis is proven to eat snails. Not the tiny scarlet badis badis though.

the "tiny scarlet badis badis" is now known as Dario dario loh.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Argh!

I have one, but it is not good with snails... maybe it is just this one that has a different taste bud.
