Hi pple!!~i have a situation here with my Echinodorus quadricostatus dunno why they keep turning transparent n then die off .i have a friend said that is nurtient problem .But i do a regular dosage everyday which is a few drops of NURAFIN PLAnt GRO IRON ENRICH .The problem is only 1 area of the plants dies off ,so it couldn't be nurtient problem cos other part of the tank are growing . I couldn't figure out the problem can any of the brothers in the forum give me some advice ?

If you are sure your CO2 and lighting level is sufficient, then my suspicions willl be the way you plant it. Make sure the growth tip is not covered by gravel. What you can do is to tug the plant into the gravel during planting follow by lifting the plant up slightly to exposed the growth tip above the gravel. Another thing you can do is to insert root tabs to the gravel bed. It may help the plant to grow/adapt better as Echinodorus are hungry root feeders.

    Cheers!

From my experience, this plant is a light loving plant, more than E.tenellus.

Are there new shoots growing from the plant?
Has the E.quadricostatus been added recently?

Are you using CO2? DIY or pressurized? Dosing just the iron thingy?
