Pump up Altum Angel

Hi,
I had 6 Angles in my 5ft tank for some time. I only feed them frozen bloodworm and something flake.
I will like to pump them up to bigger size, do you think I can feed them beefheart like those use to pump up discu?
Else please suggest alternative.

yes you can. I used to give a mixture of flakes, frozen bloodworm and beefheart. But that is also because I had wild discus at the same time. Do remember to remove uneaten beefheart from your tank

Thanks for your prompt reply, will try it out. They are always hungry like pig :P
Btw, how many altum is a good number for 5ft? Thinking of getting more.
But recent supply of altum seems to be of smaller size. Maybe season is not here yet?

min 5 to 6 is a good number to start with, because cichlids have a peaking order system. Sizes isn't a problem, since they are gluttons , they will grow in no time. One thing I notice is, the height of the tank should be 2ft or more for them to grow to their max

its a social behaviour in a group, the order establish who is the boss among the group. So smaller the group, the more stress the rest will get.
