Hey, that's a pretty good idea... How long should you wait for it to take root before taking out the clump? How did you plan on re-planting it? Just remove the whole clump and create a space in the existing gravel to squeeze it(the clump of HC with gravel) in?

if u use a high type tau huey container, it is easy to cut away the plastic and slice about 2 inch of gravel and plant it. once the HC roots itself the gravel is quite firm but u still got to handle with care....

indication to place the cultivated hc is when the clump u plant have covered the whole surface of the tau huey container.by then the hc would have rooted itself. hope this helps....i find this method less backbreaking than sticking them to the gravel bti by bit. when i tried before my yamatoes uprooted them, some of the hc had a good grip onto the gravel. since i can't keep hc with the yamatoes, i tried the emerse method, most of the hc dried up before i realise that i should increase the humidity by covering the tau huey container.....bro hope u have a better luck.

beats me bro....but what i understand is to leave the water below the leaves and cause humidity by covering the container....

if u want to get emersed HC, i saw some at C328. got tied to stone and tied to dw type...hope still available. better call.

Thank you for the info... I am from Malaysia.

So the HC will grow in high humidity only? Can i let the container open but with water which just reach the leaves?

saw some HC in emersed form. it's planted into nutrient rich mud(real wet) and placed in the sunlight.saw this at a farm. how to transfer that into the tank with the mud and all? no idea. maybe wash away the mud or plant the whole thing into the gravel but water will get cloudy for sure......
