Is this algae?

Can anyone tell me whether this is algae? If yes, what algae is it? How to get rid? It usually starts on mature leaves that is no longer growing, black small dots starts to appear, then it will spread to become more and more on the leaves.

cannot really see the features of the black dots.
U sure its not jus rotting? else according to ur description, and the black dots starts to show hair like.. then GOOD LUCK, shld be BBA le.
one of the toughest buggers to get rid, I normally try to cut the infected leave away. cos scraping or scrubbing dun really work

I am sure it is not rotting. I am also sure that it does not grow hair. So it is not brush aglae. Any idea?

It's the beginning stages of BBA I believe. I had those on my Nanas, and a week later BBA was in full force.

Check that CO2.

Black Spot Algae. Control is tough in an aquarium where there are other plants and creatures. Once you have it, it will be hard to get rid of. Cut off affected leaves unless you don't mind living with some black spots here and there. Why it appears seems to be not properly understood yet. Could be too much nitrate. I received one nana with it, and now all my nanas are infected with it to varying degree.

Thanks for the reply. I think you are right, it's black spot algae. It not only affect my nana, it also affect some other slow glowing plants. If I were to cut away affect leaves, I would have no more left. Is there really no other way to get rid of them? Anyone please.
