What's the fungus on the plant roots?

I saw some fungus growing on the roots of some plants.
What caused it and how to counter?

What plants? Any pictures to see the fungus (could be algae)?
Maybe you should be planting those roots in the substrate?

Haha... some are ferns that I collect from the garden... They are emersed..

Got one is the purple colour plant, with broad leaf, I didnt plant it inside the substrate.
Don't have camera with me...

Its not algae i guess, they look white colour
