    Hi,

in my previous experience with discus out of the 4 i bought one is bullied and its growth is stunted as compared to the rest. never gave much thought about it.

i just recently bought another 2 and noticed the same behaviour...one will bully the other into submission, but it is not bullied by the larger discuses from the earlier purchase.

is there anyway i can ensure that they live in harmony?

I can only suggest the following:

    - Get a bigger tank
    - Feed sufficiently at each feed
    - Have different 'drop zones' when feeding

The agressive behaviour normally stops after a while after introduction of new members into the tank. If condition persist to the extent that discus becomes dark and timid, it'll be time to get a separate tank.

was thinking of getting a couple more discus not sure if this will distract the 'bully'

    Hi
You are right getting more will help to allow the "bully" to pick on alternate choices but you will need a bigger tank.

I forgot what is the recommended ratio. I used to keep 8 to 10 in a 3ft but frequent water changes; abt twice a week.
