Hi,
I recently bought a water feature (those fibre glass pond thingies). My relatives, out of goodwill (and ignorance), got me some free koi-like fish from a fish farm. The problem with these fish is that they are extremely shy and constantly hide in corner. even when i feed them by dropping food into the pond, they do not come out to feed. This has been going on for almost a week. No dead fish from starvation yet, although i have lost 2 from jumping out of the pond. After a few days, i introduced some guppies into the pond. This seems to have made the koi more settled and they are coming out of their corners more often, but whenever i go near them, they will hide into their corners again.
I am kinda afraid that the koi will eventually die of hunger. Does anyone have similar experience and can offer some help?
Thanks
Cheers
Boon Yong
