Moenkhausia and Hemigrammus

Hi Guys..

So whats the big and easy difference that tell these 2 families apart?? i was looking at fishes and its all jumbled up.. some fishes are catogorised into 2 families.. probably just a case of an older name and a newer one.. but it got me thinking.. whats the diff in these families?

e.g. hemmigrammus intermedia n moenkhausia intermedia

probably same fish..ya?

if you check fishbase you should be able to trace the genus reclassifications.
