Ummm... duh... if it does not have a primer, it can't leak from the primer right?

It's probably due to a broken sealing ring somewhere. Go check the manual to see if they show you how to dismantle the primer and check the sealing ring. Or, you could send it in to Qian Hu and get them to check/repair for you.

if it does not have a primer, it can't leak from the primer right- TURE!

i mean filter wil primer will get this problem.... so it advisable to check you filter now and than any sign of water filling the top motor area. better of it and send for repairs.

i notice even you off the filter - the water will still comes out due the gravity....

water will flow to the bottom.... so check it else flood your whole house and left with half filled tank. :lol.

Lucky i noitce it kind of strange to have water in the motor area- so i place the whole filter into a pail.... guess what next morning the pail is 3/4 fill with water with the filter in it.

Can check if the two O-rings (part no. 7444190) from the intake/output thingy has worn out. Even if it is a little frayed, it will leak. It happened to my Eheim 2224 last time.

    Good luck.

I do experience this with 2nd hand ones. Either you replace the part that Juggler has indicated or like me, place a tray underneath the filter to collect any leaking water. Mine has periodically stopped leaking at certain time. HTH!

No problems with all my 2026 and 2028 filters so far. Touch wood.

I'm sure your problem can be easily rectified. Check out Juggler's suggestion and see if it works. Otherwise, Eheim has a service centre and can help you. I believe it's located at Qian Hu Fish Farm.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
