Altum angel with cherry shrimp

Hi, does anyone here keep altum angel here together with cherry shrimps. I am planning to introduce 6 angels into my 4-footer that has got cherry shrimps in it but I was told that the angels will clean up the shrimps in my tank. Is that true? My tank is heavily planted but mostly with hair grass and some java fern so not that many places to hide.

Thanks for the reply, Juggler. Looks like I will need to reconsider adding altum angels to my tank if I want to keep the cherries. That makes me wonder if altum angels are more aggressive than discus in general because they are wild caught. The reason that I am asking this is I used to keep some discus in my tank with cherries. Although the discus do pick on the cherries, there is always a sizable number in my tank. Any comments?

super big no no.. my ex-altums used to munch on super hugh yamatoes and other tetras.. discus will also if they tasted them

Yip, big no no.

You have to decide which you prefer, Altums or Cherries because you can't have both in the same tank

You can have both in the tank but 1 of them will be in the other stomach.
