hello again guys, need some help to ID some algae, and what is the cause of them. i've never experienced this before mostly kenna the lighter green furry kinds, so im hoping some of the experts out there could help me out. (its the first time i've gone almost entirely dennerle in this setup).

tried finding online but i guess u guys would already know the pictures there in most cases aren't very helpful. here goes...

Algae number 1 is a strange thread like algae but is not furry or slimy. it is dark green in my tank and grows considerably fast. was only 4cm yesterday and about 7 or 8cm today.

Algae number 2 is quite a pain. it seems to clump onto everything, espeically the hair grass. they also clump onto the bogwood (picture 2) and onto grains of sand itself. i've brought them closer to the front of the glass in the last picture. i've tried removing them with a toothbrush, but its quite a tender operation with the hairgrass. they come back too so im assuming its not a running in problem, and i need a long term solution.

    Thanks v much in advance

im quite desperate to find out what is wrong in this setup soon. there's probably only 1 or 2 pieces of algae 1 right now, but it looks like something desasterious may happen soon. algae 2 is becoming quite prevalent if u look hard enough.

Here are my tank specs, based on the sticky.

    Tank Dimensions: 60x30x35
    Lighting: 3 x 15W FL (NEC) 4.30pm to 4.30am. (2 hours siesta from 9.30pm)
C02: cylinder, about 1.5bps, dennerle turbo cyclo? (forgot wat its called).

Substrate: deponit mix base fert, and lapis sand.
Fertiliser: s7, e15, v30. (started after 2 weeks of setup)
Filter: external canister, ehiem pro ii
Age of setup: about 1 month
    Water change frequency : 2 weeks, 25%

Water surface movement/circulation: no surface movement except for surface skimmer, slow circulation.

Tank Temperature : 24+- when off, 25+- when on. (room aircon is almost on 24hrs)

    Chemical Properties
    -------------------------------------
    KH (dKH): 3
GH (dGH): between 3 to 6.
    pH : 6 to 6.5
    NH4 (ppm): not tested
    NO2 (ppm): 0
    NO3 (ppm): 0
    PO4 (ppm): not tested
    Fe (ppm): not tested

    Bioload
    -------------------------------------
    40+- cardinal tetras
    2 platies
    1 betta
    1 SAE
    8 +- otos

    Plants
    -------------------------------------
    almost entirely hairgrass
1 bogwood with some moss tied to it
    1 red...lily?
some bushy plant in the corner to hide the equipment

    thanks!

Some kind of thread algae and staghorn. Mentioned many times, get yamatos
FYI, get them fast too since those algae haven't really overtaken your tank yet.

Also, staghorn algae when grown to monster size is very nice. Looks like a big clump of moss ball, can be scaped!
