DIY only if you are experienced.

Screwing it up may cost you your life, since its beside your bed. You wouldnt want it to break into pieces and fall on the sleeping you at night.

When sizes increases, other then cost, safety issues is another important factor. I wonder if putting a tank in your sleeping quarter is a good idea, since it more or less disturbs your sleeps.

My question now... can it fit thru the doors of your house? It's not just the width... you have to consider whether there is space to manuveur. If you can't go straight thru a door, you will have to go in at angle or with the tank standing upright.

Well I managed to move a 9x4x2 foot cabinet out of the house =) I doubt the tank would be a problem.

As for when I can get the tank.. I don't know. I'm still frantically trying to clear my old stuff out of the room. And i can't find a cabinet big enough for the tank.

Get it made by someone who knows how to make them for tanks... it's safer.

    I just ordered a 6x2x2 ft tank.
    Tank itself is $440.
    But the cabinet is $780.
If you want cheaper, go for the iron stand.

Nope, I'm going to experiment with sunlight. That and that light set's waaay outta my range. Low tech, that's the idea.

They don't have a website but post often in Arofanatic. From what I know, they made the cabinet in Malaysia and shipped it over.

Go for it! Try your best and share your experience. I think there are too many nay-sayers that are discouraging locals from experimenting and sharing their results.

Having said that, some practical advice is good to heed, like those about safety.
