I guess these fish are found in moving rivers in the wild and so prefer water current.
Bettas won't like such currents since they are found in more stagnant pools or padi fields in the wild.

Hi Shaman,
usually if a fish have a scissor tail, their mainstay is in the current. The scissor tail was made for that, swimming against the current.![]()
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
haha.. i have encounter this problem too..my rainbow fish loves to swim against the current...it juz looks so cute!but it did not jump up the tank...only my yamato shrimp and SAE jumped out... fortunately that yamato was fine after i placed it back into the tank..that SAE is much unfortunate...when i was shifting the light..i found its dried corpse

I don't want to scare you but your fish might have gills disease or maybe there isn't enough oxygen in the water which i think is quite unlikely. Usually you see such behaviour in gold fishes when they have gills problems. Wait a few days and if they've stop swimming against the current then they'll be fine if not put potassium permanganate.
Fishes don't normally do that unless there's some problem with the water quality or they are sick.
Ehhhh... I think you have to observe the behaviour of the fish and consider the species of fish to decide if it's gill disease or natural behaviour.
Some fishes do like the current... in such a case it'll be hard to tell.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Just to share, I changed my filter out spray bar with lily pipe two days back; guess what?
All my dwarf rasboras now hanging infront of the lily pipe most of the time; fighting the current. They love the current & they are well & healthy.
Cheers
dont worry no problems there then, they love currents then, and if really no choice got fauna jump out, put a netting on top of the tank lor, no choice liao
