    That's great enough for many kinds of mosses. Taiwan and Java will grow readily for you.

    erect - requires high light
    spiky - require medium light
    xmas - high light
    weeping - medium light
    taiwan - low light
    java - low light
    willow - high light
    stringy - high light

    These are for survival. For any moss to do well, to produce the best font shapes, high light and cool waters are a must. Even the humble java moss will be very very beautiful.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    guess taiwan moss is more recomended!

    like to ask....i having 4ft tank, 2*40w, no CO2, temp 26-26.5c;
    plants include java, erect moss, java fern, Echinodorus tenellus(all plants are matured....previously grown from CO2 equipped tank)

    like to ask if the given specs...would i be able to maintain my low maintainance tank?!? or any things i may need to alter?!?

    lastly i would like to increase the volume of plants....any easy and low maintanance one to recomended?!?

    hmmm...i would feel that u should include CO2 into ur tank...
    partly because ur tank is much bigger now, ur plants may need co2 to photosynthesize...
    and u may be subjected to the risk of algae problem if u dun balance ur light, nutrients and co2.
    too much light and not enough co2= algae problem...

    hi there i think you should increase the amount of light by adding another 40 w bulb, try to keep it at 2 WPG. You may not need CO2 though but that will limit your plant types to just crypts, ferns and moss. Yup. If fortunate maybe HC as foreground also can but e tennulus is best. Hmmm... yup thats what i think you should do

    on second thoughts why dont you go for variety of ferns, narrow leaf, normal java, windelov etc, and then for DW tie taiwan, dont neeed co2 for taiwan but growth generally in the tank will be slow. Dosing should be done once a week to supplement them. But hey best is if there is CO2

    currently running 1bps...wondering whether isit correct,
    cos i only require low maintanance-with moss and ferns!

    And lighting 3*40w for 9hrs;
    Liquid Fert be dosing once weekly as normal;
    temp 26-26.5, fan running 24hrs;

    Is the above method correct? pls advice anyone!

    hi, just to ans richie, if your tank has only ferns and moss, then your 3 x 40 W should be sufficient, i think 1 BPS is ok, prob can increase to 1.5 or 2 cause its 4 ft tank, but 1.5 should be alright, rough est then. Yup and your tank, best is to grow java and taiwan yup as these grow well even with lower co2 so you can try these out.
