i topped up my 2l co2 recently and it was running fine. the gauge was not moving or very minimum drop for about a month until two weeks ago it started to drop very fast till today its dead! didn't touch anything or adjust the bubble counter which is doing about 2-3bps constantly. i was suspecting the cylinder itself cos this happen after 2nd top up. anyway to check? check with two other friends also same problem where the meter drop at a alarming rate after some time. is this normal?

If both drop at the same rate, unless you guys have serious bad luck together, my bet is on the vendor who did the topping up of the CO2. But then again, 3bps for a 2l cannot last pretty long. Once the liquid CO2 in the cylinder is used up, the main pressure will then start to drop or else, it rarely moves.

normally 1 bps will last around 1 + to 2 mths if 24 hrs turned on.... hmmmm probably in my opinion at least last 2 mths? if only 10 hrs that is. But 2 mths is max. And hmmm how long did your drop to zero? sometimes chk the main valve maybe you didnt turn it on? it happened to me b4, if not prob go back to vendor and ask him to chk for any faulty parts

went down to NA today to check with Chan and from what he says, the meter will not drop until it has about 5% of content left in the tank. if 1bps 24hrs a day lasted only 1-2months then 2-3bps lasted about 2 months is reasonable. but i did came across some threads saying, doing 1bps for about 8 hrs daily lasting 1year!

It really depends on the vendor doing the topping up. Some do force-feeding (big cylinder to your cylinder..some sort of cheating.) whereas a standard top up uses proper equipment to transfer liquid CO2 which only factories or professional gas companies can do it.

now that your cylinder is empty, weigh it.
after topping up, weight the cylinder again. should gain some weight. may be about 2kg, assuming liquid co2 has same density as water.
if there is no weight gained, then the refill is gaseous co2 only.
