    Which type?

Kubotais and Pakistanis are definitely out as they nearly wipe out my whole colony of cherries but Hilstreams loaches like saddlebacks are very peacefull.

Right now I have two clowns in my 3ft tank with cherries, malayans and yamatos. Seems ok but I suspect they will prey on the juveniles if they are not fed well.

Just my exp. or you might want to consult hwchoy (mod for fauna section) who seems to be very active in loaches in petfrd.com.

    Cheers

I feel that discussions concerning the fauna in planted tanks are more related to the freshwater section. Please post future questions there. I'm a sucker for correct forum sections sorry

in general loaches prey on small organisms such as young shrimps, slugs, snails, eggs, etc. so yes, anything that will fit through their mouths are fair game.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Remembered that there was a discussion on horse-face loaches being quite effective again snails. Are they also a threat to shrimps, particularly cherries? Appreciate any advises.
