    Hi guys this is my new 1 ft cube i just did today for my gf, felt it was quite an interesting pc although may need some small crypts on the left hand side where this a small open space.. heh prob c. Walkeri.. what do you guys think, and XnSDvD, i tried to use your method... found it to be rather good for taking photos, thanks for the advise, here it is much clearer..

    oh yar tank specs: those that i do know:

    1 ft cube
    2 x 9 w light
    co2 less.... no co2
    dosing yet to fix but prob easy life profito once a week
    kno3 once a week too.... ( considering)
    304 eden filter
    lapis with no base fert

    plants: taiwan on left DW, java on right
    Nanas... huge one in centre, petite one in the front
    java ferns on the right (trying to adjust the placing a little still)
    and coming soon c. walkeri

    Anyway, nice tank =) I like the hairgrass idea but I woulda done a "cave" with a U or Y shaped chunk of driftwood.... yup

    18W over the tank may be too much for a 1ft cube low-tech. Anyway, observe for any algae problems. I used 9W or 10W so far over 1ft cubes.
    Should add more plants if you can.

    ok will add some more plants soon, so 9 w is sufficient? i was afraid it wouldnt be thats why i used 2 x 9 watts... hmmm i ll try to rescape a little..., where do i get some dwarf hairgrass?

    For my 1 ft cube, I also use only 9W. As what juggler said, 18W may be too much. Keep your bioload low.

    You should be able to get dwarf hairgrass in many of the LFS. I believed I saw them in C328.

    ok, i ll keep that in mind cos i never understood the diff btw dwarf and normal hairgrass... i ask LFS uncle they say yes, then when it start growing too tall i start wondering.... whether they are correct.... ok i ll try c328 then

    I feel that the Java fern should be moved behind the Nana to create a thicker effect. The moss will be very nice one you've got it trimmed and growing bushy.

    I think you can affect the height of hairgrass by altering the ammount of light(all plants really). More intense light = shorter hairgrass
