It's quite simple, those commercial medicines for fungus should do the job.

apologise for the lousy quality but yeah. That's what it looks like. Should I do that salt bath thing as well? If so, how do I do that? Also, is it safe to leave them as they are? to develop a resistance to it. Or will it kill them?
those are not tiger barb (aquarium name for Systomus tetrazona) but the native six-banded barb Systomus hexazona.
where got sell ar?

With fungus you need to treat with both anti-fungal medications and also anti-bacterial medications. Most of the time fish that get infected with fungus are initially infected by bacteria which have colonised injured areas on the body, so in other words, fungus is a secondary infection.
There are available anti-fungal medications in the market, however I must say that fungus is not the easiest problem to handle. Most of the time I cull fish that have been infected with fungus.

Well, lets just say culling isn't an option for these two...![]()
In that case then you'll have to battle the problem with both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal medications and hope that it works out. Sometimes the fish are stressed by the medication process and may end up dead instead of alive. If the fungal problem is dealt with early in the development stage before it turns into a furry plume, then hope is there.
Anyway, good luck on saving these two. I still have my hexazonas and they're living happily with their rhomboocellatus cousins.

Hi Xnsdvd,
I believe your barbs are suffering from mouth, body fungus. Is it white cottony stuff? Try Tetra Medica( Red packaging not the blue one ) quite effective against the infection. Have tried this medication for some time, quite useful. Good Luck![]()

Remember those long rasboras with purple diagonal stripes, I bought a bunch from you and some from you know where. The ICH outbreak took about 22 pcs of those. 1 x pleco( don't know number but might not be due to ICH )cost $98( brown&white flowery with red pointy tail ) a bunch of clown loaches, 12 to be exact( huge and fat buggers) 2 x don't know what but look likes a huge cory in armour $28 bucks each. And a very pitiful juvenile Merondontus tigris( hope I got that correct ). PLUS, 1 huge pile of #$@%^&*# medication and a UV tube

Gah! all i could find was methylene blue! And one of the barbs killed itself by smashing it's mouth into the sides of the tankAnyway, I'm offering the remaining one to anyone else with hexazona. He's swimming in circles around my tank, nipping at the macrobrachium malayanum, bloody mouthed and all...
Poor stressed fish...
michael, simi long rasbora with diagonal stripe?![]()

Hi Choy,
Those you like very much also lorI think the batch I bought from( I shall refrain from naming here ) was in very bad shape. It brought on the outbreak and it was like Armageddon......
Btw, let me clarify I bought 1 batch from Gratiola and another from xxx.

Sorry xnsdvd, try M.blue with some salt. The salt works wonders.

yea, combi of water change and salt works wonders. Barrane once posted about salt treatment and I must say it helped to contain my ich outbreak. Now, my fish are stress free and happy.![]()
Cheers,
Andrew
