    I currently have Albino Short Body Bichirs, Ropefish, feifeng and a few altum angels in a 4ft planted with lotsa DW/BW... I'm thinking of keeping plecos but worried that they might not be compatible with the current combination of fishes... any advise wld be greatly appreciated

    IMHO, it depends on which type of plecos u intend to keep..Bigger plecos may sometimes chase smaller fish and exert stress in the tank, especially ur algae level in tank is insufficient..algae eater is more reccomended in planted tank and it wont cause too much damage to ur planted tank.

    Try L134 or those hypancistrus species ! theyre Omni and doesn't grow big ! very suitable for planted tank. Saw some L134 at Gan's FF ! check them out ! cheers !

    actually, you could just feed plecos sinking pellets. after which, they become depedent on the pellets and will only occasionally hunt for other food. this will prevent them from attacking other fish

    from my experience, some plecos are suitable for planted tank as they are not so 'naughty' to mess up the plants. goto Gan, he will give u good advice.

    I bought my there and eversince, he has been living happily with other fishes and plants.

    might wanna watch out certain plecos will bite ur sword if u have any. it will turn out to be like a lace plant...

    thanks for all the great advice...

    Is there any species of plecos which r small in size say abt 2-2.5in sold in the LFS? I've seen this particular species at C328 near the entrance abt the size of 2in quite nice but not sure which L izzit...

    u best not get the spotted one(can grow damn big) if u have any swords. get the small ones. they arent taht harmful to your plants

    Try L046 Zebra Plec, will definitely enhance your planted tank !

    Mine is 4 ft tank. No substrates. Lotsa of driftwoods and nana plants. I have 08 pcs of hatchets, 04 pcs of adult altums, and 01 pc of L024. Everyone lives in harmony.

    I totally agree. But the problem is where on earth can you get it? It's end of the year and the season is over.
