Hi! Might be a little strange to post this at a fish keeping forum... After all, cats eats fish... But I LOVE cats AND fish...

Ok, ok... I went to Metta Cattery and sponsored 2 cats. Can't keep cats at home, so that is the best option. The Cattery needs help in terms of volunteers, sponsors and best of all, someone who wants to adopt and love the cats. If anyone is interested, please visit their website. Dunno if it is appropriate to post it here, you can google 'Metta Cattery' or visit my blog for their url.

Post some pics of the Cattery, inclusive of the 2 cats I sponsored. Like them?

    Speedy, likes fresh water:

Siti, the one eyed cat, very manja:

Enjoy! And please help if you like cats too.

    Cheers!

Not supposed to publicly announce the location cos the lady in charge is scared of people dumping cats there. The vounteers is unable to visit the Cattery regulary on weekdays and they are scared the cats will die from the supposed kindness... I can only say the place is at Pasir Ris Farmway. Check out their website.

That pic only shows part of the back of the Cattery... There are more than 100 cats there and about 10 or more dogs... All rescued from certain deaths...

Hey what's the diff? If the webby shows the address then it is known to the public right?
Another thing how did she manage to keep so many cats without them fighting and killing each other?

Anyway I'm a cat lover. When I first started my planted-tank and was carrying my CO2 tank home I saw a group of kids torturing the residence-cat with water-guns. I told them not to torture the cat. The next afternoon when I saw the cat she was licking her lips and I thought I saw chocolate on her lips. On closer look that was blood ! Someone has thrown the cat down the the flat and though she survived the fall she obviously did not break her fall properly. She broke her front left leg and must have slammed her face on the ground upon impact.

I took the cat to the vet and was told to either pay $450 to cast the leg & keep her at home for the next 8 weeks or let her limp for the rest of her life.

As I was broke after spending on the planted tank I brought her back to the flat without fixing her. The next day she hopped towards me when I was at the lift. That's it I thought, she shall be fixed. And the cast went in. The same night she pulled her leg out of the cast and I have to bring her back to the vet. I was made to pay half-price to get the cast up again.

So for the next 10 weeks she lives in my spare room.
After that I paid more $ to get her out of her cast and let her stay with me to rest her weak leg.

When she was ok, I sent her back to the street again. And she has been around the block since then.

    That was 3-4 years ago..

Yah in case you wonder why I do not keep the cat after spending all the $. I don't like pets that makes me develop a feeling for them because my world will collapse when they die on me. That's why I like planted tank. Fish die? Throw away. Plants rot? throw them out. hehe.. no feelings needed.

Wow, Nicky, you are such a Bodhisattva!...

They also dun have the full address on their web site. You have to contact the lady in charge.

The cats do fight, but rarely. Those roaming around are all sterilised and so are less likely to get agressive to fight. When I was visiting, it was just a few paws here and there when 1 cat roamed into another's territory just to see how this new human looks like.

Those not yet neutered had to stay inside a locked area... The Cattery needs money and volunteers to sterilize them as well as buying food and cleaning the place...

I heard of the place, a friend of mine volunteers there do you know a grace cheong? She's a little young for you though... 18, JC girl

Anyway, I've had a similar experience with my cat, Gwen or tiger or "Dinner's ready!". I first found her about a year ago in the middle of the sidewalk. She was litterally fur and bones, i could even see her heart beating through her fur. At first I thought it was a dead kitten, but when I bent down to take a look(Yes, I realise i intended to have a closer look at a corpse), she gave a weak, pitiful but very heartmelting "hiss".

She was completely limp when I picked her up. It's like she as paralyzed all over except for her eyes. They kept darting all over till I got her home. My grandmother had to force feed her(incredible woman by the way) essence of chicken and milk because we were afraid of her choking on solid food. I spent that first night sleeping next to the toilet bowl with her on my stomach. Force fed her again(dripped really...) on the second day and spent another night in the toilet(she seems to like the seclusion, even now). By the 3rd day we took her to the vet. We were given the choice of putting her down or having her "warded". Surprisingly it only cost $150 to have her on an IV and kept there for 3 days. I was in NS at the time to I had to go back to camp. But by the time I got back the next weekend, there was a little orange(still very skinny) ball of fur sneaking around the house

So far she's cost me 8 Harlequin Rasboras, 1 Woodshrimp, 1 very large Betta Pugnax, 2 pillowcases, 1 bedsheet, 1 Redclawed crayfish and my EX's underwear(Lesbian cat?)

Lovable, ungrateful creature(Gwen, not the EX. That one's just ungrateful) Haha, she's looking at me now while I type.

Actually she lives in tampines, And I didn't keep her underwear! The cat ate it when we were still together! She likes chewing bra straps so... yeah Likes the "chewy-ness" or something.

    [Edit]
Also noticed siti, the one eyed cat is kinda fat... What's with that? I seriously hope those cats are getting enough exercise...

Tsk tsk tsk... Your girl throws her underwear around your place when you are still teenagers eh... Young people ah...

Strangely, the cat I kept previously have no habit of chewing stuff or destroying furniture...

Grace? There was a young girl when I was there last weekend... Didn't ask her name cos I was in a hurry... Maybe she is Grace...

Maturity is not age, but experience... As evidenced by the many 18-23ish girls who act like they're 12 Or 30 something guys who resemble chubby 14 year olds online. Haha
