I think your question asked is too general. Doubt anyone would be able to give any advise. Maybe you could give us more details for your tank, what shirmps you intend to keep.

Please do search first and read up. After reading up and you are not sure, then post the questions. I believe this would be more helpful

have read up abit on shrimp tank set up , but just need more advice from bro here into some details to take note for a shrimp tank setup.

anyway intended to set up 2 feet shrimp tank , with internal sponge filter ,
shrimp intended to keep : cherry , zebra, blue , yamato, malayan shrimps.
plant maybe only java moss.

pls advise on whether i need to have DIY fan to cool down water temp?
water temp about 28 deg
and wat else to take note...

Yes, shrimp generally do a lot better in cooler waters and some species need it to survive. Plants for hiding spots(among other things) are always a good idea in shrimp tanks. It causes less stress in them and for tiny creatures like these, stress levels can mean life or death.

Most if not all shrimps do not do well in water temp of more than 28 deg!
To be on the safe side, its good to have a fan to bring down water temp!

Another thing to take note is that the airpump supplying air to the filter shouldn't be too powerful! If not your shrimps will be stressed and ! That's how I lost my first batch of shrimps!

Some other things to think about...

1) Tank mates? Most fishes are not recommended although Ottos and some boraras are ok.

2) Substrate? Since only Java Moss, base fertiliser is not required.

3) Water? Important to properly age the tank before introducing the shrimps. Recommend that you set up the tank for at least 2 weeks and ensure that ammonia and nitrate levels are zero and low respectively before putting the shrimps in.

1) Moss, lots of them and of course a lighting source for it.
2) Cool water, 27 degrees and lower preferable. 25 degrees is the lowest.
3) Algae wafer by Hikari for their diet.

Keeping shrimps....

Zero ammonia = Most recommended

Temp 27-28 = Still ok

PH = 6.8 - 7.2 = ok
