My guppy's tail is clamped and looks like dragging his back. Normally it's tail is fanned out but now it does not spread. It's struggling a little when swimming fast.

There is no fin rot and still retain it's appetite. Anyone with experience on this?

Clamping of fins is usually a sign of failing water conditions.

The others are doing fine. It's just this particular one. I notice some jagged edges at the tip of its tail.. maybe sign of tail rot. Will quarantine it tonight and apply Mellafix.. Fortunately, it's appetite is better than ever.

It usually starts with the weaker one and slowly all will get the symptoms soon.
    Hope this isn't the case.

Do as you've planned for now, seems like a good plan.

The guppy died in the hospital tank. It was aneroxic and it's body arched into an L shape. The other fish are fine n healthy. Did 5% water change and clean filter. Ph 6.8 and KH 6. Nitrite n nitrate nil.

From what I heard about guppies with clamped fins, it's almost certain that it's water all the time. Any heavy metals in the water? Fe, Cu, Zn?

    How big is your tank?
How many guppies do you have in there?
How often do you feed? How often do you change water?
What type of filteration do you use?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

That particular guppy seems like it wasted away. This is attributed to some internal parasites. I'm not sure what but if you come across another one like it, please remove it and if necessary, kill it.

    Cheers,
Unlikely it's due to water conditions. The other guppy is still strong and healthy. The bio load is rather light, only 13 fishes plus 10 more cardinals added a few days ago. The tank is 400L n feeding is twice daily. Filtration Jagno 501.

How about the rest of the guppies? Not affected?

The other guppy is fine and quite domineering, frequently chasing after the glowlight tetra..

    Hi,
Why my guppy die one after another. Can give me some pointer like PH etc or hear some LFS talk about adding some salt.
