I have a red tiger lotus but it's not growing tall at all. I think it's only quarter of a feet now. Heard from my friend that it grows taller in low light condition. Is this true? Can brothers here share their view with me? According to my friend he was away for 1 week and did not turn on the timer for lights, just the CO2 only. It has grown at least more than half a feet when he came back. Just saw the plant at his house earlier and was shock that it was growing so well as compared to mine. FYI, we got the plant together.

    Tank Specs
    Size: 24x12x14 inches
    Light: 1x55w E-Ballast 8hrs daily
    Temparature: 26.5 to 28
Fertiliser: 2ml LGA weekly (adviced by NA)
Root Monster: Ocean Free placed near the RTL

Sorry... Can't resist... A lot of people would love to have their red tiger lotus growing short... I know I definitely will prefer mine to grow short... I cut all the leaves of my lotus when they grow to the surface! In the end the plant died from excessive prunning...

Ok, heard also that substrate fertilizers will encourage the plant to remain short... Maybe you can remove the root monster of you want the plant to grow taller leaves...
