you dont have to grow algae, i think u mean moss? you can try to tie some java moss (cheapest if you wanna save cost) on wire mesh and place it at the bottom.

    Bro...

Tank base is smooth, i wanna grow those greenish algea on tank base. So that shrimps feel more comfort walking on it..

I don't like putting gravel as base and over feeding will have flat worm grow in tank.

I do have of driftwood tied with Taiwan moss in tank.

I grow my 3ft tank base with greenish algea by on lighting for more then months.. Now i wanna grow my 5.5ft tank base with greenish algea fastest way...

Frankly I don't think shrimps mind the difference

Greenish algae the fastest way? Put your tank near a window with direct sunlight.

My reason, because i have strong current rain-bar which will blow the shrimps away.. As tank base too smooth, shrimps got nothing to clink on.

Too bad my tank already position not able to get direct sunlight, think i only can use more lighting to grow greenish algea on tank base..

interestingly i think benny must be saying those in jest... BBA is rather unsightly... if you want to grow also grow those nice ones. But honestly, algae isnt somethingyou wanna grow, growing moss on wire mesh to lace the bottom of the tank is a much better idea. It isnt easy to grow THE type moss you want.

This is my 3ft tank base that already grow up with greenish algea..
It take me months with many hours of light on then it grow like.
I do have numbers of drift wood tied with moss & mini pellia.

Now i trying to find ways to grow my 5.5ft tank base with greenish algea faster, so that my shrimp feel more comfort while walking on tank base..

BBA will grow on everything, including gravel. Its an irritating type of algae.

Green algae will slowly carpet the tank bottom but it gets faster if you find something that already has the algae growing on it and place that item in the larger tank.

That will somehow "seed" the tank with the algae. To carpet the bottom of a 5.5 ft tank with algae is no easy task.
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable
    Back to Killies... slowly.

Uhm... Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just use moss attached to stainless steel meshes as a "substrate" for your shrimps?

There are 2 camps of thought in Japan CRS commerical breeders, one use substrate, one use bare tank. Till now, there is no obvious winner, a bare tank is fine, provided there is no strong current. The algae layer helps their little feet to stand in strong current, but never deem necessary in the bare tank advocators.

Everyday Shrimps shit alots, this shit will be trapped in gravel, under wires mesh & etc..

My main consent is not to trapped those shit and let Crs crawl comfortable, and so i can clear shrimps shit away daily..
