I think Benny has the Magnum diatom filter or was it someone else? Used to 'polish' the water of those small floating debris but the filter is not meant to run continuously because of the media used.
I'm curious, do any of you know of a particular brand of the finest filter floss available in the market? So far I've been buying "generic" filter floss from Nature Aquarium at Thomson Road, and I've not really gave a hoot about the other brands.
Anyone can give some names or some pictures? I've heard of people mentioning 100 micron 200 micron that sort of thing.
Also, I've heard of this Magnum diatom hang-on filter from American forums. Is it available here? Any idea on the price range for this/normal diatom filters?
Thanks!

I have been searching for the Marineland "Magnum 350 Deluxe Filtration System"[220/240 volts] for quite a while, no luck in Singapore [yet]. I have sent a few emails to the manufacturer [no response] and a few to some overseas suppliers. The suppliers have responded, but they all seem to have 110 volt version.Originally Posted by |squee|
Since I have a project in Hong Kong at the moment, I have also searched there and have found 1 old Magnum 250 filter in a shop in Tung Choi Street, but the 250 doesn't look as durable as the 350, nor could I get Diatom power or spare cartridges etc.
If I find a supplier I will let you know.
So nobody knows about filter floss types?
I'm looking for finer types.. or is this kind of question best directed at the LFS owner?

The only stuff that I know about is "baxter paper" which isn't the same...
Just got an email response from Marineland today, unfortunately they do not manufacture a 220 volt version of their filtration systemsOriginally Posted by Rupert
you can purchase a transformer that converts 240v to 110v. this should not prevent you from acquiring a unit if you need it.

Thanks - It is just annoying to have another piece of equipment to plug in, not a big issue, but enough to prevent me buying the product.Originally Posted by tawauboy
