Plant placement seems fine to me. The red plants might be a bit too much, and the rocks are too white. All you have to do is to wait till the tank grows in properly and then post up a pic for us to comment better.

whys there a net at the back? for moss??? will be a death trap if not properly placed

Ya the Plastic mesh behind is for my christmas Moss... Can't really see from the pic but it's actually filled with moss between two mesh and the holes are rather small so don't think any fish will get caught but thanks for pointing it out...Originally Posted by ahkarboy

it's how the plastic mesh fits in on the sides at the edges... if there's a gap, those fishes and shrimps will itchy backside go in... I had a few cases of those... 1 of them died suffocating as he squeezed harder and harder in as i tried to rescue him... poor fella...
I tore it down, also because the debris underneath/behind the meshing too difficult to suck out...

Guess you guys might be right... Will see how I can tighten it so that it leaves no spaces for any fish or shrimps.Originally Posted by mr_moon

Silicone it to the back of the tank? Or push it further forward so the fish won't get stuck![]()

nice looking set up, wish u luck on ur set up

Dear All... Thanks for all your comments... Did some slight changes to my tank.
1. Removed the red plants... Was told too striking and not really an aquatic plant.
2. Modified the mesh so that it's rather loose... Now shrimps and fish will not get stuck and can actually swim in and out.
3. Trimed the hair grass a little and added a couple of cherry shrimps, and otos.
Pls give you me your most precious comments!![]()

A tank isn't going to look good if the plants look sick. I'll look into that quick since your plants seems like dying.

Huh?! Sick? Which one? If you are talking about the "Hong Tai Yang" It's supposed to be like that. It's like that when I brought it. It grew like crazy just after one week and the riccia is bubbling too... HmmmPls tell me what to do

Btw in the last pic, you can see that the center hong tai yang was been snipped off... and replanted behind the drift wood which can be seen in the last second pics... Was just experimenting to see if it will grow another stalk.

This is good considering that it's your first attempt![]()
The hairgrass is planted too closely. Best if you could seperate them into individual plantlets in groups of 3 or 4 and plant patiently.
I suggest you remove the rocks completely. Really cannot make it =x

I must admit I'm stubborn about the rocksThinking that after algae grow on it, it's going to look nice. Hai... Think I should really remove it then.

I must say that your scaping is getting better and better, the last pics look quite good. But must wait till your moss wall covers the mesh before making anymore comments, but overall not too bad![]()

Dear Pple... just wanna ask if you guys know what plant I have at the right end of my tank planted to the soil? Brought from Mr Teo but don't know the actual name. I know the rest are hair grass, christmas moss and riccia
Oh no, that's a cryptocoryne.
