    Excess ferts, other than NH4 to the water column, causes no algae bloom.

    So if you over do it, no big deal.
    Powersand does have NH4, so do not disturb the tank in the first 2 months or so and plant very heavy, add mulm etc.

    Power sand seems to have a basic general terrestial fertilizer infused in the pumic along with peat.

    Folks have used osmocoat and other time release ferts in the past.
    The Aqua soil is the matieral that is more key over the long term.

    can i summarized to say that aqua soil is still the key element? as well as the adequate and correct dosage of liquid fertiliser. we can actually do away with base fertiliser (if we wanted to) if we are using aqua soil.
