try getting the harder & stronger ones. if not it's quite difficult to tie them cos they will bend. you might want to consider the stainless steel ones. depending on the size you need, can always get them from NA.Originally Posted by didi

if u planning to do a moss wall, then u gotta use the soft plastic mesh, if u doing foreground, then u Must use the metal mesh....
yep, it's soft...but there's no need to tie so tight. as long as the 2 mesh can hold the moss inside can already
i'm ADDicted to this wonderful hobby
Anyone has any idea where to get bigger sized stainless steel mesh? I am looking for the same material like those found in NA, but bigger in size.
i thought NA sells bigger size as well. call & check with Mr Chan. when i was there the other day, overheard someone enquiring about the bigger size.Originally Posted by cbong

asked for it two weeks ago but he said no. i suppose some hardware stores have them, but have yet to try going around. used plastic mesh but the problem is that it bends and results in fishes and shrimps getting trapped at the back where there is a gap.Originally Posted by riccia
If someone really serious of doing a moss wall, the best method I found and learnt from Bioplast.
What Tan has used the following :
a) hard square plastic cover for lohan or arowana fish tank (see the picture)
b) semi soft plastic mesh with big holes in normally roll up form .
c) cable tie
steps :
1) put the hard plastic on the ground
2) lay the moss on the top
3) cover with the semi soft plastic mesh
4) use cable to tie up
One 4 ft size moss wall can be done within 20mins without worry the bending unlike wire mesh.

Sounds like a good idea. Any idea where can i get the item (a) and (b) above?Originally Posted by neon
You can get (a) from any LFS. As for (b), it is cheaper to get from a hardware shop.Originally Posted by krabbie

be very careful if u are planning to do a moss wall!! it will be a trap for your fishes if not stuck properly!!!
Are the holes in the mesh mentioned too big for moss? I have seen LFS using stainless steel mesh with very fine holes. Any idea where I can get some in size of at least 2' by 2'? Thinking of setting up a Christmas moss background. What about the cost? Tks and best regards.
